Introduction
Anyone who has worked in a large enough organization - corporate, governmental or otherwise - will understand how the true state of the world can be contorted through layers of political bureaucracy. For example, the line worker sees a chaotic process on the brink of catastrophic failure on any given day while the suited executive sees “lean Six Sigma operations.”
The Objective Truth of imminent failure wades through the political morass of hierarchy and slowly morphs itself into a sublime version of success. However, this success is not anchored to reality, rather it is simply Political Truth. Despite being sacrosanct, Political Truth is itself not truth at all, but simply the feeling of success as the alternative is reluctant acceptance of failure.
In the Western world, many of the ills of our society have to do with this dissociation between objective truths and invasive political truths. I argue it is the reason the media can no longer report actual news, politicians can no longer effect proper policy, companies struggle to produce value, universities fail to adequately educate, public health has become public illness and language almost fails us at communication.
The last bastion of objective truth is the voices of those still able to see it and those immune from the virulence and intoxication of political truth. I’ve found objective truth in the voices of those in the Comments Section of media organizations. Sadly, those media organizations have dwindled in number as proponents of political truth have imperialistically sought out and silenced objective conversation across great swaths of the internet.
The Comments Section with ZHcommenter is a publication that will highlight and amplify the voices of objective truth across the web. We will highlight the dichotomy between accepted and widely-held political truths and their objective counterparts. It is about time the little guy got his voice back.
